WMM not allowing me to move through the timeline...

While working in Windows Movie Maker, trying to edit the begining of my video I was forced to look back at a certain point in the timeline. I found, however, that when I went back and pushed play, nothing appeared and no music played. This seems to happen whenever I move back and forth through the timeline after I've already pushed play. Has this happened to anyone before? Can anybody tell me how to fix it?

UPDATE: Appearently I can go to any place in the timeline by clicking on it quickly, but I cannot drag the little blue bar to anywhere in the timeline.
