Codec help ><

Post by Silurian » Mon Jun 06, 2005 5:40 am

Okay I know these questions get old...and prolly these questions from me are getting old >.>() But you all are just so helpful ^.^

Anyway, problem is the codecs...I have the Huffy one...and it works great and all, but of course as everyone knows its a huge file...like 800 megs worth >.> So I wandered through my codecs and even ended up with a 1gig file once ><.

So what codec or what method am I supposed to use thats going to make it small enough to upload it on the site?

I looked through the guides and I couldn't find anything for my problem...or maybe I just didn't look in the right spot? -.-()

Okay, I looked at the first link. So let me see if I'm getting things straight....first you make your vid...obviously..then you export it with a codec, then you go through that Xvid proggie and compress it?

I have a tiny little voice in my head telling me you're not reading the guide or you would know the answers to your questions.

First you export your video from your editing program with Huffy and then you load it into Vdub. Apply whatever filters you didn't beforehand (if necessary) and then you FAST recompress with Xvid as your compressor(codec) The guide shows you exactly what settings you need to have it on so I won't go into detail about how to work with Xvid, just read up and try it out yourself. It's not rough.
