You write it in notepad, and then save it as <filename>.avs. Then open the script with a player or VDub or similar. AVS should kick in automagically.

Save it with a .AVS extension; be sure to change the File Type to "All Files (*.*)".

Then open the .AVS file in a media player or VirtualDub(/Mod) and it should look and act like any real .AVI file.

You save the file with a *.avs extension instead of *.txt

If you have AVS files associated with Windows Media Player (it asks you this when you install AVISynth), then all you have to do is double-click and AVISynth will open it for you in WMP. You have to have AVISynth installed, though, or else it won't work.

If you don't have it associated with WMP, you can manually open it in any player that supports AVS. VirtualDubMod also supports it, and Adobe Premiere supports it through a plugin.

You should be able to just import it or something, or if you really want to know from people who know what they're talking about (unlike me), then here's basically a whole guide on the subject which everyone on this forum should really read before asking questions:

After creating your .avs file in notepad (which got explained like 3 times above) you open Virtual Dub/Mod and click on file then open, find your .avs file and open it, then you go file, save as AVI, after that you import the avi into premiere from file import then file.

Download and install the <a href="http://sourceforge.net/projects/videoed ... ">Premiere AVISynth Import Plugin</a> (also comes with the AMVapp, so if you've installed that, then you already have it).

You can then open AVISynth scripts in Adobe Premiere just like any real video files.
