I have a problem with WMM2 ....

Post by Jayjs20 » Wed Jul 27, 2005 4:54 am

This problem has not been addressed in the recent pages, so I hope someone here can help me straighten it out.

I'm completely new to video editing. I've always loved watching other people's videos, so I figure I could pick it up myself.

The first program I tried was WMM2. It looked promising, considering all the options avaible to me. The problem comes about, however, when all I do is open the window that shows all the transition effect and just by clicking on an effect, the program crashes and it shuts down. There's no error message, nothing at all.

Has anyone encountered this problem? Does anyone know the solution?

My computer is pretty high end, meanng all the requirements of the program and I still have plenty of HD space left.

Any help will be appreciated.

wmm2 is buggy. One cause could be lossy footage, which it definetly will be if you've downloaded the anime source. Make sure your editing iether with lossless encoded footage or virtual avi files of avs scripts. Have a read of this.

Hey Jayjs20

Have you got DivX installed?
if so, then there's 2 solutions that I know of.

1...
Go to your \Windows\System32 folder and do a search on an ax file.
My query in the serach box look like this. *.ax
Find the offending files with divx in the file name.
Rename them. I just include an extra charater like this from Divx.ax to _Divx.ax
There should be about 3 ax (divx related) files (Don't delete them or files that needs Divx to played may not play anymore!)

2...
Uninstall Divx.
Not a good option since I got a lot of files requiring this codec.

Hope this helps!
