I need some kind of software very similar to Clip Creator
If you're not familiar with Clip Creator, it's a mac-friendly software that takes video clips and cuts them up into segments (you can cut them up manually, or automatically). It's essential in my situation, because I'm making a Totoro AMV, and when I ripped the DVD, it all came out in one piece (no segments). iMovie certainly can't digest that. I can't use Clip Creator because it mysteriously crashes upon launch, and there's no way around it. So I need a program like that, that's mac-friendly, and hopefully free. If you can't find one that's free, feel free to list any that aren't.

MPEG Streamclip can convert your vobs into a QuickTime format. You will need the MPEG 2 play back for Quicktime to use this. It is only like $20 dollars. Also with MPEG Streamclip you can pick out the segments you want. But what you really want is the MPEG 2 playback from Apple for Quicktime. You might even want to check into Quicktime Pro. With Quicktime Pro you can make clips with that too.
