The best Decoder?

Hello and sorry if i have spelled anythingh wrong, but now for the question. I was wondering if someone could recomed a good decoder exept for Xvid and ffdshow?

In order to answer this question, we'd need to know just what it was you were trying to decode. Different streams require different decoders.

Except of course for ffdshow, which can handle almost anything you throw at it.

And what's wrong with XviD's decoder?
