Final cut Pro and .vob

I thought FCP could import .vob files?

It should be able to if you have decrypted them, and have the QuickTime Pro MPEG-2 component. Otherwise, you are going to have to demux and convert it to another importable format using:

video: bbDemux, MacMPEG2Dec, DiVA, MPEGStreamClip, etc.

audio: a52decX, A.Pack, bbDemux, or mAC3dec.

Yep, Your right. I had to *buy* yeah I know it sucks did not want to fuck around with lime wire on dial up. the mpeg2 plug in for quick time.

I get just video tho. so I used mpeg steamclip to get the aiff file out.

Question tho,

Constantine I used osex to get one .vob file and the movie looks great and is in english all the way through. With so many codec's its hard to pick the best for quality. If you were going to archive a movie what codec would you pick.

and what setting would you pick if you wanted a 5gb movie to be 1.2gb or in that area? I want to keep quality.
