help?

Post by Smoke Alchemist » Fri Oct 14, 2005 4:11 am

Hi,

I am new to all this and have dvd decrypter which is supposed to rip what you need from dvd's and tranfer them to mpeg or whatever correct? LOL or do i need another program for that? Also...i have windows movie maker which came with the new dell computer that i purchased about 2 months ago. Is this a good program to use? I have read that Ulead is better, but since i have yet to use anything i don't know whats best...can someone or a few of you please let me know what works well for you? Thanks!

Read <a href=http://www.a-m-v.org/guides/avtech31/>ErMaC & AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly AMV Guides</a>

Seriously. On the main page, click on guides... There, look for "AbsoluteDestiny and Ermac's Guide to All Things Audio and Video". It's got all the info you need to get started, including what programs, how to use them, and yes, getting started on your video with Windows Movie Maker. It's just about the best thing this site has to offer... next to the video archives, of course.

There are several guides on the main site.

While MovieMaker has limitied capabilities it is easy to use. Many people on this site use it and some of them make decent AMV's. Try it. If you feel you need more, there are 2 stickies with software lists at the top of this forum.

Just so you can't say your question didn't get answered...
dvd decrypter does rip your footage, but turns it into .vob files...not mpeg
and yes you need other programs to be able to use the .vob files
like the old rhyme goes...
when in doubt, look at the how-to guides.
