I believe that virtualdubmod via AVIsynth scripts can open a WMV file and then you can save it as an AVI. Use the directshowsource command like this:

directshowsource("C:/pathtoyourvideoclip/nameofyourvideofile.WMV")

(I think, if not, someone smarter than me will correct for me)

hope this helps

This is correct, atleast it's what works for me. I don't know if you'll have any problems with VDM, but I'm still happy with VDub 1.5.1, so when I use this script I have to be very careful to not desync the video. Usually happens when scrolling through the clip, you'll see the text "VIDEO DESYNC!" flashing at the top of the screen. If this happens, just close the file and reopen it. I've gotten to the point were I'll cut the clip I want and save it with WMM and then open it up with that script in VDub. Then all that has to be done is save that whole clip as an .AVI, no need to touch the scroll bar. Good luck.
