adobe premiere pro 1.5 problem !!!

hi ^^
i just learned the basics of this program adobe premiere pro 1.5
but the problem is
when i import an avi anime episode
it work in the source window but it won`t work in the program window !!! why ??
does that mean the avi ep has codecs or something ?? but it works in the source window !!! so why ??

please help !!!!!

and one more request : can u plzzz give me a good site to teach the newbies how to use this program from a-z plzzzz

It's best to rencode your source in H.263 using FFDShow and import those files.
