AE7 effects

I was just wondering is it possible to put effects anywhere in the timeline? I can only seem to put them at the beginning of any composition.

Usualy effects work on all the layer, not on a spacific moment ( considering you didn't keyframe it). At least that's how it is in AE 6.5 .

Can you add more info or maybe a screenshot?

Err I probably asked that question wrong. I meant to say if it's possible to put the effect in say 30 seconds instead of just it being put at the beginning of the layer.

not that I know of. mabey keyframing might work some how in all of this

Split the layer at the point where you want to apply the effect.

Ctrl+Shift+D
