Vegas movement issue

Post by zbbrox » Wed Apr 19, 2006 10:05 pm

Hi there, I was wondering if some of you experts in Vegas could help me out here. I'm rendering a video with Vegas and the motion seems very jumpy, as if certain frames have been left out and the remaining frames were cross-faded to give the illusion of movement. This seems to occur regardless of the codec I use, or even if I leave it uncompressed. Is this something to do with the framerate, the interleaving, what? Some help would really be appreciated, it's driving me crazy.

Thanks.

Maybe your source and output framerates don't match?

Could very well be. I've tried it on standard NTSC and PAL, but nothing else. I'm fairly incompetent: Any idea how I find out what my source framerate is? ;)

In the Project Media tab there is a "Views" button which lets you see detailed information about your source clips.

Awesome, I'll check that out when I get home from work. Thanks a lot.

In the meantime, all other ideas and suggestions are still appreciated!

Check your frame rate when encoding, is it at 29.56somethingwhateverthatnumberissupposedtobe? That maybe a problem. There's so many issues that can attribute to jumpy frames.

Fixed! I was encoding at 30(ish) but the framerate on my source was 24(ish). Thanks a lot, guys.
