help using DVD footage

just finished my naruo amv and now i want to do one on the inuyasha movie 2. I have the store bought dvd decrypted onto my desktop. I've tried many conversion tools but the quality turned out bad. Does anyone have a converter or ripper that they use to convert the DVD to AVI? Is there a "DVD codec" available that can have adobe read the Vob's as vertified files? It would be very cool to have an AMV with dvd quality.
