WMM saving a movie

Post by Fay Fay » Mon Jun 12, 2006 3:47 am

Ok i have been ripping my hair out for the past few weeks about this >_< So i finally decided to ask for some help, i really hope someone can help Oo anyway.........I use WMM to make my AMV's im pretty new to making them and have made 4 already *but thats besides the point* I have 2 projects saves in WMM but I can not save them, whenever i try the saving just stops at 32% *or something like that* of the % dosent go up at all and the time remaint just runs into something stupid @_@ I managed to save my other AMvs without any problems so why is it not working now? I have plenty of memory left on my comp.

I did manage to save one of them onto a recordable CD, but the footage stops after a few seconds, although the audio still plays *Which is no help at all*

So anyway, any suggestions or anything, please help!!

It's possible that a particular clip is causing WMM some problems. Unfortunately, you might have to change the clip, or possibly re-encode that clip as another format and drop it back in.

ah iv'e been wondering about that, one AMV uses clips of diffrent type *cant rember which* but the other uses clipd that are all .avi , so do all the clips have to be the same format to save a movie *all my other AMv's have been so maybe thats why....* ok so how do i change them? *feels so dumb*

try this. It worked for the last person I helped that had the same problem. Save your movie in parts, then import the parts back into wmm, and then save the movie as a whole. Granted it takes longer, but hopefully you should get some results.

Remember, just like in other editing programs, you shouldn't use lossy footage in WMM (i.e. no DivX/XviD)

Having worked many times with WMM in the past, I know that my method helped me to export my amvs even when much of the footage was DivX or Xvid compressed. It seems that WMM doesn't like inconsistency more than anything. Too many clips used in various different formats or compressed differently tend to give it problems as well. So try my method. Hopefully it'll work. (I don't see why it would'nt.)

well, i found out, well, on my comp, maybe ures also, wmm uses a LOT of cpu usage, so, if u have too many clips on the timeline, u should save thenm into parts, and import, then save next, import, exactly what fay fay said, i dont y, but it always works for me, try it
