Premier Insufficient ram error

Post by Medieval » Wed Jun 21, 2006 10:07 am

I recently got a newer machine that came with 3 gig of ram.

The issue I'm getting is that when I try and load premier its giving me a message staing that their is insufficient ram for adobe premier to run.

If I start running a whole buch of applications to chew up about 1 gig worth of ram, it loads fine.

So it looks like premier doesn't like looking at available amounts of ram over 2 gig.

I don't really want to pull out a gig of ram out of the machine, just wondering if anyone else had run into something like this and found a work around.

It's version 5.1c, I've considered upgrading to a newer version, but just don't have any spare cash to work with at the moment.

Wow, thats an old one. It was probably designed for windows 95, and people just didn't have that kind of ram back then :p

I would suggest to just try and find a useful way to eat up 1gb of ram whenever you want to run Premiere. Maybe set up a 1gb ram drive and store some media that you will be editing on it.
