3D Animation Program?

Post by Kraise » Wed Aug 02, 2006 12:21 pm

Yea...

I was wondering what would be a good 3d animation program for eyecandy effects... Or if I wanted to make like... Clouds, falling leafs, fire flies etc.
I seen afew videos with this and was wondering... what kind of program they used?

Blender3d is a good choice, as there is a lot of good documentation on it for learning how to use it.
I think the interface really sucks, and is totally non-intuitive, but once you learn it, it's not that bad.

I have also tried cinema4d for a very short while. While it appears to have a much more intuitive interface, I had a lot of trouble just getting started, as I couldn't really find any basic tutorials besides the manual.

Minor correction and some notes:

It may not be very intuitive, but it is quite consistent, and once you learn it, you can fly.

There's only a few things in Blender's interface that I'm still not entirely happy about, even after extensive use (one of my biggest peeves is the Action Editor), but I've found very little to dislike in its other features.

Well, I guess I should say that that's all my own opinion. :P

Kraise ... "I wanted to make like... Clouds, falling leafs, fire flies etc. "

Wire Frame software works quite well on Motion Affects.

A 3D Animator... hmmm ( I ended up making my own 3D Anime CAD Program. ) What little I did accomplish in Blender3d worked flawlessly.

-- just my opinion. 8-)
