How Does DV work?

i downloaded and installed the DV Codec, now do i use something here to convert files, or how does this work?

you'll need to be a bit more specific than that I'm afraid...

what are you trying to do? get footage from a dvd, from a camcorder?
I assume that you got a DV codec because you're planning to work with DV footage
