besides i think the logo that best represents the site and has a certain level of quality to it should be voted for. not the one that's easiest for banner makers to work with
Nice to hear someone had an easier time with my logo than I did. One thing's for sure, I've seen a lot of variations on it...so I guess in that respect it was highly adaptable. ^_^

I also believe that the whole banner thing should be neither here nor there. The site should come first, although of course it's nice that people can be inspired by a logo or look forward to using it as an attractive component in their banner. Nothing wrong with that at all.

See my gallery for answer ^^

Although, I have to admit that I liked Hinatasan's logo easier to work with, it had a fairly easy symbol in it which is always easier to alter. But then - if it's harder, it's just more of a challenge, so I can't whine, can I? :>

Agreed. And I'm pretty disappointed with the turnout this year, a lot of the logos look like rehashes from the past two years. This is the only competition IMO.

I'm happy enough that you could even pick one, ya cranky old man.

Well it seems that as of right now, the average voter picks about five entries. Which is totally fine. Better to pick the ones you really like than to vote for 10 logos just cause you can. Only one can win in the end, after all.

Some of them are, actually. I allowed re-entries because 1) we weren't getting enough submissions, and 2) you gotta admit, there were some nice ones from previous years that never won. I strongly suggested that resubmitters try to go back and make improvements though. I'm tempted to make that a requirement in the future, but it's kind of hard to objectively judge what's an "improvement," and change for the sake of change doesn't always make better logos...

If you make some logos which you think are good and they don't get accepted, why should you change them (that is - if you still think they are that good!)?

Well if you're going to use that line of logic, what's the point of having an annual contest if we're just going to be having nothing but old entries? I mean, I can understand sending your stuff again for a better chance at winning but if we're going to have a contest every year, then there should be a fair ratio of new creations to old ones. Nuff said.

I just defend that option, that's all. As for me, I improved one of my last year's ideas and the rest is new from scratch. Mainly because after one year, I think most of them weren't that good (and honestly, except two of mine this year, I don't think I've improved that much...)

i'm gonna agree. it's professional and includes all aspects of anime, music, and video. i'll be very surprised (disappointed) if people don't vote for it.

I really like the selection of designs this year. Quite a few complex ones that really draw my attention. Let's see if one of my favorites win in the end.

I really don't understand why people tend to like "complex" logos. I always thought that a "logo" should be as simple as it might...

But then, i suck at making them, so I have no voice in this :>
