Hey DarkSchneider,

Read the VCA rules very carefully and see if there is something that automatically disqualified you. It could be that you didn't indicate that you had entered in all of your videos. It could be that you listed an anime or music as "unknown" (or variant listing of "I don't know"). Those are the most likely reason why you may not be on the list.

Phade.

Ok, but tell me something...

Post by DarkSchneider » Wed Feb 19, 2003 1:07 pm

:? All right, that part I understand, but tell me this, There's a couple of those projects that I wanna delete, but I can't. How can I get rid of those then. Are you guys working on that? Cause if you say ALL videos must be entered, then I have a problem cause I lost some vids due to a crash some time ago. How do you guys account for that?

If it was made and people saw it then it existed at some point, so it's worth adding into the database for completeness.

I've read the rules a few times, and the only thing I can see as disqualifiying me is #3 because I have 1 amv entry that I *CANNOT* delete. It doesn't list any anime or any music as unknown or various. It just doesn't list any because it's blank.* The form provided on the rules page does not allow for a video entry to be deleted. And when I first tried to delete it, the FAQ n' such said that well...I couldn't. I could e-mail and bug Phade about it, but I figured I would just edit in a new video there later.

Otherwise, my videos abide by the rules here.

*There's a blank entry because when entering my second video, I had numerous problems in just getting the song used to show up. I tried doing a separate entry and that didn't work either. I just had to wait a couple of days. Then I couldn't find a means to delete the entry, so I left it there.

Corran Productions wrote::shock: Self titled and Self titled (updated) are totally different, glad I caught that. (Just posted this in case others didn't realize this.) Well I'm done for tonight. *Yawns*
Yeah...I put in the original Self Titled as a placeholder before i had finished the video...when I went back to change it, it had already been too long, and the song/anime sections were locked in already. I don't like bothering Phade and asking him to delete stuff from the database, so I just made a new entry
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

Phade. I had a question. All my videos, up to "Sneak The Future" are qualitfied, but everything after that isn't. Now, I know "The Highwayman" and "Tainted Love" cannot be qualified because they were enterd after Feb. 1st, but all the other AMVs I've made between "The Highwayman" and "Sneak The future" were either entered in December or January. I cannot find what could have possibly disqualified ALL those videos("Rika's Blindness", "The Cat and The Butterfly: Season 2", "Kingdom Hearts Special", "Challenges", and "In My Way").

Could you please tell me what could've happened?

I think you need to read the first paragraph of the rules:
VCA 2002 rules wrote:Only videos listed in the AnimeMusicVideos.org video catalog that have premiered on or after January 1, 2002 and on or before December 31, 2002 will be eligible
The videos you refer to are all listed as premiering in 2003 in your video profile.

And I thought I had read the rules enough times >_< Sorry for my moment of HUGE stupidity. I had looked at the deadline for all videos to be entered, going "Ho hum, SQ as always had read a bunch of guide pages too many times so they've been embedded into her brain, I'm just going to complain" Yeah, that's me for you... Sorry. And thanks, AD. I doubt Phade would have liked to have been troubled with such idoicy.

Re: Question about joint efforts

Corran Productions wrote:Anyways I found something that I wasn't sure what to do on. VegettoEx and Meric did a joint project on their AMV/Trailer "The Professional." I therefore voted for both because I wasn't sure that it would be a good idea to just check one(If everyone did that then the votes would be split and neither would get a chance at winning.). My question is what happens if they both qualify? Will you (Phade) somehow specifically consolidate their video or will they take up room that another video could of had in the final vote or would only one get to go forward to the final voting?
To Phade: Yeah, I wanted to ask you about this, myself. How are people supposed to vote for our collaborative videos? (i.e.: since more than one person worked on a video, it's in both people's profiles)

This happened last year when mine and VegettoEX's 'X-Men / DBZ Trailer" was nominated in the Trailers category. Only my name was mentioned, and I didn't think it was fair that VegettoEX did not get any credit. If something like that happens again this year, is there a way you can put both of our names listed, if we make it as finalists?
New AMVs: DQCF+P (various Street Fighter) | One Guitar (BECK) | Please Don't Make Me Cry (Paradise Kiss)

I've made a point of making sure I tick both boxes, but I had to double-check. (there goes the anonymous voting :P)

I can imagine it being a problematic issue as the separated votes may, combined, nominate a video when neither database entry gets enough votes alone.
