uh but the mods know who is who though, I said people THEY respect not necessarily people that "the loafers on the forums" respect

The mods get paid in the love and adoration of the userbase. Most of whom show their love by being as annoying as possible to the mods.

It's kinda astounding anyone volunteers to be a mod now that I think about it.
