How do I play this AMV?
How do you get a strange AMV to play on your computer?
Normally you simply download the file, and double click on it to play it.
However many of the files here take advantage of new compression techniques to maximize on quality vs filesize. If you have already downloaded a file, and it won't play usually this means that you dont' have the proper players, or codecs installed. If you are trying to convert the extension of the video to a new format to play it in a familiar device, usually you are wasting your time as players and codecs are quite easy to install and use.
Extentions are the (usually) three letters after the dot on a file.
The extension on a file tells your computer what program to use for playing a file.
Common extentions here:
.mpg
.avi
.mkv
.wmv
.rm
.mp4
These all refer to video files hosted here.
If a file has a nonstandard extention such as
.mtv
.amv
.ppj
.d2v
ipod
They are not directly playable for most people. They are also not accepted formats here on the org. Please don't upload them.
Most of the media files can be played using This pack here
There are several guides on how to download and play the videos.
These are available on the main page.
