Video Game Forum?

Anime-related games would be great.

This would make extra work for the mods because there would more than likely have to be constant supervision about what is and what is not an "anime-related" or Japanese game.

It could always work in a similar fashion to the Series Discussion board in that you only get one mod-approved topic for a given game. It'd be a bit more work, but it'd mainly just be a pain in the beginning. Once the forum was decently populated with games there shouldn't be topic requests every 5 seconds.

Though there would be at first.

It would probably work better if people were to submit lists of games rather than a single request. All in all, I think this could really work. I love the idea.

Double post - Though of course I mean you could also submit single requests. It'd be easier if you posted a list. If you check out Wikipedia's list right here (not a full list, only games that have anime of them.)

We could do like with the anime section and have General Games, a Game Discussion, and Game Screencaps sub-sections. Like how recent anime generally get a thread posted in the General Anime section and requests for new threads are rarely made, the thread is simply moved. It's been working fine for a while, but the mods sometimes don't move the thread.

I understand that we don't want to put more work on the mods. I honestly do, but since GMVs made with games from Japan are allowed on this site, there should be a place to discuss them. Technically, following the site's definition of anime, you could just talk about video game in the anime thread. Either way, I like the idea of getting more discussion on games going on because I feel it may help with getting people to make more GMVs on this site. I feel like games are really underused here because there is, naturally, a larger focus on regular anime.

Well nobody talks about games in the anime section because it's just that. An ANIME section. People want to talk about ANIME in the ANIME section so of course people would talk about GAMES in a GAME section.

I think you fail to realize that on the Org certain games are considered anime. That's why we're allowed to upload videos with them here. If you guys want games to be discussed in the anime thread, make it a normal thing and start posting thread about games in the anime thread. That way there is no problem about not having a game thread.

As for the donator's forum being the place that games can be discussed, I think games that the Org classifies as anime are On-Topic for the reasons already listed above.

I don't think there's much to talk about Org-able video games alone without considering it "pointless," otherwise most of whatever else can be talked about that isn't "pointless" can be posted in threads already created, though I think most people overlook this. And whatever is pointless and/or non-Org-able video games can be discussed in the Donator's forum.

With all the pointlessness that goes on in anime series discussion I really wouldn't see the harm in letting Japanese style video games get a thread, or a sub forum in there.

No it didn't fail to realize that. What you fail to realize is that people would rather talk about ANIME in the ANIME section instead of GAMES. If there were a GAMES section then people would be more likely to talk about GAMES in the GAMES section. Didn't you think that there was a reason that nobody talked about GAMES in the ANIME section?
