Will we ever purge unused accounts?

Post by Kionon » Sat Jun 01, 2013 1:21 am

Some accounts have no information (test accounts), and other accounts were actual registrations but have no videos in the database, no profile information posted, and haven't had any recent logins in years. In some cases, no no logins since founding of the Org itself. Here is an example.

Why are we keeping these users in the system? Do we believe a real possibility for visits in the future to occur?

It looks impressive to say there are almost 900,000 members to the site, even if most of those accounts aren't real people that actually come here.

Then again, you never know. Someone might suddenly decide to pop in one day.
I calculated the odds of this succeeding versus the odds I was doing something incredibly stupid, and... I went ahead anyway.

Just sort of wondering if it's some sort of strain on the system.

I have no idea how databasing works, so it might not be a strain at all.
