Hmm...thinking on this....you might check in Windows Media Player make sure you have the file types you want played by WinMedia selected:

Tools>>Options>>File Types

the make certain there is a check next to "Mpeg"

Do my little task above. If that is a no go. Then this is something, I'm guessing, that Phade will probably have to look into... :?

"Direct" does not mean streaming video, it means that right-clicking on that link and choosing "save as" will download the video to your computer.

"indirect" means the link takes you to a website where you can download the video from.

"local" takes you to a page where the download will start automatically, if you've been a member long enough, or made a donation.

Many creators here prefer to put out their videos at quality levels that simply can't be streamed through a typical home cable or DSL connection, even if their webhost supports that kind of speed.

Just save the file, watch it, and delete it if you didn't like it enough to keep.

As for the other problem, when you installed that program, it probably took over the file associations for whatever you were trying to watch.

If you don't know how to reassign file associations, use windows help, or ask the question in the General Video forum. I don't have time to answer it here and now.
