question about uploading guidelines...

Ok, i apologize this question is answered somewhere in the FAQ, but i couldn't find it, so i thought i'd ask...

I have an invader zim video that i want to upload to the site... A friend of mine tried to upload it for me before i was a member, and had some trouble. He said that because Zim isn't actually Anime, the site wouldn't allow it to be uploaded for local downloading, and we would have to link to it.... However, i did a search for Zim videos and found Several videos that have local downloads available, and feature Zim as the only animation... I didn't want to upload it and find out later on that i did something wrong...

So are we allowed to upload videos from a series such as "Zim" for local download or not?

one other thing i would like clarification on...

I was not a member when my friend created the entry for the video under his name... Now i am a member who can download and upload, etc... I'd like to create a new entry for the video under my name if it turns out i can directly upload, but after reading the uploading/deleting guidelines, Im guessing that i can't...

Any help would be greatly appreciated on this one...

What's allowed on local: anime, projects that involve anime and SOME non-anime, Japanese originated video games.

What's not allowed on local: all live-action only projects, most cartoons, video games, etc...

It would be wise to find other hosting for it cause I rheamed someone out for posting a Passion of the Christ video on the Org. Paizuri gave evidence that supported what I said also. But, just to be safe, find another host for your Zim vid, then post it here with a DIRECT or INDIRECT link.

That is correct. Also be aware that just making an entry for a non-anime video will also disqualify you from future viewers choice contests.

Those videos were uploaded before the management were able to prevent non-anime videos from being uploaded. Last I heard they were making a process that would delete all locally hosted non-anime videos with one push of a button but I'm not sure when that will be implemented.

Any chance you have links to those all-Zim vids? Because they're not supposed to be there and if you let the mods at them they won't be.

I posted links to a lot of non-anime videos a couple of months ago but nothing happened. I PMed AD about it and he informed me about the "big red button" thing...

so you mean even if i post a video thats Indirectly linked (and not uploaded), then it disqualifies me? Seems a little harsh, but then again I suppose it IS the decision of the admin...

Yeah it is an attempt to keep non-anime videos out of the database.

ok so not to be like anti-amv's.org, but does anyone know if there is some similar type site out there where one could post a zim vid, or am i just stuck hosting it on my own site?
