Dear Mod/Admin/??? - How about... Explanation...?
Yes. Yes. I'm not a regular poster here but now... I dare to write down my second question for this day in this board.
This time: Concerning the board itself.
I dared to ask in another part of this forum wether someone is able to capture a scene for me. Below that I got the lame reply *Don't ask where to download footage* or something in that direction.
Okay. Maybe I've written myquestion in too many words for the usual l33t-user to understand or my english is still awful (hey. I'm german. Don't expect much please) but in my unmentionable opinion it's been clear I didn't look for a download-link but simply for someone who HAS the footage and could provide me the missing scene (wich would be something around 2 minutes if I remember correctly).
Well. That'S not my question... MY question is more... Why did the topic got locked...? And... Why didn't I get an explanation for that? This board isn't as huge as Gaiaonline but even there people get told WHY a topic gets locked, deleted, moved, etc. So why do the mods/admins/whoever is responsible for this don't feel any need to at least remind of a fitting rule or something to explain their decision? It confuses me somehow.
Keep in mind: I take my time to write all this stuff in order to get an answer/help... But what I get is a locked topic without understandable reason. I'm not writing THIS topic due to anger or something... It's confusion. I'm utterly confused by this and nothing else...
I understand it'S not the fine way to use *downloaded footage*... But try taking a look at japanese DVDs, what they cost and... What you need to buy them: A Credit Card. Something I don't own even though I'm 21 years old simply due to the fact that I'd never use it anyway. And... Honestly. I will NOT buy one of those Ebay-DVDs. NEVER. We all know they're Bootlegs and I'm the last person to support this kind of stuff... It's not that hard to get the differences between bootleg and real DVD... So until the series gets released here in germany or even america... Somewhere I can use PAyPal at... No problem. I prefer *true* DVDs over low-quality-fansubs anyway - and they look nicer in the cupboard. But until then I dare using RAWs if Ican get them or those FanSubs if I can't get RAWs - since I'm still a beginner in this AMV-stuff with an atleast usefull computer... no one should expect utterly high quality anyway. Not yet.
Well then. Maybe you've actually READ what's written there this time... And maybe we can kill my confusion... The question's up there.

Just because you don't want to buy something doesn't mean you're automatically entitled to whatever you want.
You, myself, and everyone else here... are all guests on someone else's board. No-one inherently owes you any kind of explanation for anything.

Please see forum-specific rule #7.
This is one of a few rules that is broken on the forums _very_ frequently. The mods/admins can be blunt about enforcing the frequently broken rules.
Besides, the reason is apparent if you know the rules. It's not their job to individually tell every user what the rules are; they posted the rules and everyone is responsible for making sure they know what the rules are.

Well... Sure. That's a well-known rule in each and every forum and I'm aware of it... Yet again: I did not ask for a downloadlink/-site at all [not that hard to figure those out when you know what Google is anyway ^^; ] but for someone that actually HAS the footage that might provide me the scene... oÔ; I thought there's at least some sort of difference between this and that...Akai Rurouni wrote:http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... 89&start=0

Still... I'm surprised by the rudeness of this board... I'd understand it more when it'd be a highly frequented one with some hundreds posts per minute that people don't have time to talk friendly to each other but... It's a somewhat slow board so I think a nice and polite atmosphere should be manageable... oo; Or...?
*hopes to not get its head biten off for this remark*

No explanation was given because another forum member had informed you which of the forum rules you were breaking. You agreed to these rules when you signed up to the site.
This is in both the forum rule and expounded upon in DETAIL in the main site faq.
When frequently asked questions are posted on the forums they are often met with negative comments. The thread was locked to avoid such antagonism. The thread would normally have been deleted had it not been for the fact that you are a new member and needed to be informed about the reason. I'm sorry you feel that the reason that was left in the thread was insufficient.

We are actually quite friendly and helpful on this forum but you must forgive members for being blunt when it is clear that you have not a) read the rules of the forum b) read the faq or c) searched the forum before asking your question. If you want to make anime music videos you should pay for your source footage. Do not ask this question on the forums, as your account may be suspended or banned.

In the old days any thread that was locked was ended with a succinct but enlightening -
[MOD: Thread locked due to violation of 'no downloaded anime' rule.]
Or something similar. I've noticed that very *very* few locked threads get this anymore. I guess they're just too busy for it. But yes, Zelgadis, normal policy on the org is for the mods/admin to give their reason for locking/editing/deleting posts and threads in a little bolded [caption] at the end of the posts. They just stopped doing it a few months ago. But if you look around, you'll still see a few of those comments here and there.
As for your thread itself - you did ask for downloadable anime. If someone else ripped that scene you wanted and sent it to you, you're downloading anime from that person. Even if he mails it to you, it's the same as getting stolen/downloaded anime. And you can't ask for that on this forum.
