Just to throw out more stuff for you to look at, if you choose... :wink:

Adobe Photoshop

Paint Shop Pro (PSP) by Jasc Software

Neither is free though. Photoshop is expensive (but you get quality Adobe software), PSP is less so but still not free (and is also pretty quality). Both have free trials, IIRC; fully-functional 30-days for Photoshop, but I'm not sure if the PSP one has a timer.
