Banner Contest Question

Hey,

Look, I realize I suck at banner making

but that's no excuse to not let people vote on them

I submitted a banner a few days back and it hasn't shown up for judging (I realize they must be approved) but it also doesn't show up under the My Banners tab on the left.

Any reason? Am I submitting my banner wrong?

If the banner isn't on your banner page then it wasn't submitted correctly.

Hmm, ok. I'll try it again, but I am browsing for my banner on my computer, and then I push submit. Am I doing something wrong in between?

Sorry for the double post, but I got it to work.

Does it not give you an error if the file name is not a unique file name?

It should present you with an error, yes.

Oh.. I'm having the same problem.. I have, like, 3 or 5 banners made and it won't except ANY of them... *sigh*

i also have questions about the banner making for this site. i recently tried my hand at a banner. to me and company it was a "green light" so to speak so i uploaded it on the "my banners" tab. it worked fine but my question is, now what? who votes? when? will i be able to see what my worthy & unworthy #'s are?

well...i was just wonderin'

If you uploaded correctly,
it should come up on the New Banners area when the the site confirms it and will be voted by members of a-m-v.org. When the voting has finished, you can view how many worthy votes you received by going to the My Banners page.
Concerning the 'when' ; it can take from a few days to a few weeks:it all depends on how busy they are.

i have yet to see anything pop up in the new(), worthy(), or unworthy()...
i am assuming these are the options in which i get to vote on other peoples banners...

i guess what i am looking for is a full explanation about the banners, how they get voted on (answered earlier...thx), how do i, if i, get to vote for banners, is there a way to view other peoples banners so you don't repeat someone's idea (as w/ searching amv's for similar ideas before actually starting it), and so on with all the regular questions that come up...

is there a guide i'm missing or is there a sticky thread, i mean come on, there is one for avatars...why not banners?

just point me in the right direction...?

I want to know this, too...
I've just uploaded a banner and could find it in the "My Banners" Section.
But it doesn't show up in the 'New Banners' section...
Did i do something wrong ?
