Nice site but......

I like the way that you focus this site around the music and videos (and keep idle chit chat out) but that is what I was looking for. I belong to gaiaonline.com and I thought (by first glance) that I had found a home away from home while I am in school. But after further looking I have noticed that there is no General Discussion anywhere. I have read other threads about this and I have found out that they removed it. I most likely know why because we have the same problem on Gaia (n00bs, trolls, spamming, etc.)

I am not a true fan of anime cause I have just recently got into the whole anime thing. There is so much out there and I am lost in what to look for next. I would love to chat about anime and such but there is no chat here, just right to business. I would love to get into the whole concept of the site but without a section to chat about anime and such, I cant really get into the site without possibly getting flamed or such for doing so. So in conclusion I wish that this site can bring back a section for chatting. I know that there is a slim to no chance of bringing it back but it does not hurt to ask

Well I will stay idle to see what happens. Most likely flamed or the thread being locked. Oh well...

**BTW your moderators are quicker to respond than Gaia's. That is also what brought me to the site**

Their was one. It was taken away. Then their was a thread a few months later asking for one, but the answer was NO. Then every week from then on such a thread appeared by another person, sometimes upto 3 of the same damn threads on a single page seriosly we realy need a damn tutorial on using the damn search function and some form of forcing it into peoples faces before allowing them to post.

Okay...I knew that already. I was just pushing the envelope open.

From what I do see this site is quieter without the General Discussion so I guess I will have to work around that.

Also, did you even notice that there are other sections of this forum, including several dedicated exclusively to anime? If I read your post right I think that's what you're looking for.

THere was a general discussion, but it was taken away. The only way to get it back is to send a lot of money to AD, paizuri, derobert, phade, vlad and doki.

Well, from what Im gathering from shizbgby's first post is he wants to use something as a chat(OT forum)while he is in school(I know we already know this). But I know in my school(dont know about others)there is a security system which only lets the server's administrator(which is the tech guy)to install programs. I can download IRC, but I cant install it due to insuffient rights. So IRC may not be an option.

I do wish we had the OT back, but without us having mind control over the admins, there will be no OT. =\

You can try Demonseal, but we're pretty much all refugees from the Org, and we have little to do with AMVs by now. Very few of us still come here regularly. On top of that, there are a couple prominent members (and by prominent, I mean they have no life) that are very much convinced that they matter more than anyone who hasn't been a member for at least a year. So you might need to watch your initial step. Aside from that, it's a generally carefree place.

Yea, and if that's not up to your tastes - I think quite a few other important AMV studios (and damn, it's too bad Demonseal doesn't actually do a lot) run their own forums with OT sections - like Hypeodermic or Random Destination.

I'm a Demonseal whore, though. It really seems to have the big "Post-OT refuge" flavour
