hay my amv didnt uplaod now what do i do im even geting hate mail it is an over sized vid but every thing i try to make it smaller is not alowed by the site
directory empty at /usr/local/sbin/Pancake line 150, <FH> line 17.

No, DO mind. There is absolutely NO NEED for an 800-megabyte file of a 4-minute video on the local server. Read this guide over, and OVER, and, OVER again, with as many practice encodes as you need to get it right. By compressing the video with xvid and the audio with LAME or some other form of mp3 (codecs are in the AMVApp), you should be able to get this video comfortably below 100 MB and still looking great.

With the technical information being what it is, there is NO EXCUSE for bad or nonexistent compression.

Well, these days, you can get most AMVs comfortably under 30 MB and still have them look great...but that's a side issue.

800megs? what the fuck? arent amv's over 100MB supose to requir special permesion before being uploaded?

How the hell is this possible? An anime episode that's generally 23-25 minutes long, with both audio, visual, and subtitling is only around 175-250 depending on file specifics. But an amv that's 3:42 in length and 776 megabytes? How the hell did they allow you to upload that?

Now, I may not have the time, nor equipment to make amvs, nor do I know how, but when you make an amv, try to remember that there are STILL people with 56k Modems and Dial up out there. Do you have any idea how long it would take for those people to download the file? I'd rather not find out....

ok the way this is possible is its my 1st amv and i dont know what im doing yet! i did get promition fom the site to upload the amv. Kai Stromler thanx your the bigest help ive had i,me working on geting this amv to a smaller size using the info u gave me.

i dont know how appoevd this uplaod but someone did or i would not of been able to do it. and instead of wining about it you guys could help me by giving me tips on how the make it smaller. i already have the amv made so compressing my sorce video wont work now any ideas on how i should compress the amv. i understand that no one wants to downlaod a amv of this size but u can open the file and now downlaod it. and other then the size what do u think of the amv i made??? i would really like to know so i can make better amvs latter. i know i need the work on file size and im working on that.
