Screwy .Org Error Messages, 504 errors, and other such fun

it sounds like your browser's security settings won't let you download.
it could also be your firewall (best bet is to turn your firewall to low or off for this process).
if you are using Internet Explorer hold crtl and click on the test download link.
(holding crtl overrides any download/pop-up restrictions that IE might have)

there is a chance that you uploaded the wrong file (maybe a shortcut instead of the amv itself).

at any rate you should try again.
it would also help to list what browser you are using, what ftp program you used (if any) and the size of the file you uploaded.

for the name lookup timeout error:
sometimes the server gets busy, pretty much from 5pm to 12am (rough guess) so that might be what's happening...try again at a different time
...I think Derobert installed a new server that should take care of the site traffic a while ago though...

the username and password are case sensitive, make sure you are entering the exact username and password.
another thing that typically catches people is a firewall. Make sure yours is turned to a low setting, or off while uploading.

I posted another thread about this... I'm extremely confused. I'm doing everything correctly, but nothing works. What's with the Kero server? And can't we upload the videos on another in the meantime?

I tried downloading an AMV, but when I clicked on the green word ("Local", "Indirect", "Direct"), it went back to the a-m-v.org home page...

I got one, too:

I go back every few minutes to confirm it and it still has the same message and I can't upload any more AMVs until I confirm it and stuff... Curse it all, it figures I'd get bad luck on the day AFTER Friday 13th... XDDD
