Phade probably won't ever put in an edit button. And I hope it stays that way. Some peeps just need to slow down and think before they post. Making a few errors here and there is acceptable and human. Making a lot of errors because you have to "post post post!" is stupid, and your own damn fault. Deal.

There can be an edit button. It's not like Phade made these forums, phpBB is a GNU forum system, in the admin panel Phade, or anyone with admin access can enable post editing. I use phpBB on my own site, the process of enabling the edit button is incredably easy, and takes 1 or 2 mins. 5 if your drunk.

Phade knows it can be added. It won't be added. Deal.

This is still going on? What's the big deal?

There is no "edit" button. Get over it.

It won't make any difference. There have been two occasions where it could have been needed. Those are now nicely covered up. It isn't needed for vanity. No one here needs to be vain. That's clear. Mistakes...? Yeah that can be annoying. But there's no reason you can't cover that up with another post. I'm pretty sure it won't kill anyone. Last time I checked, mistakes on forums were pretty non-fatal.

it would be cool to have a delete message button too, but that would go into the same pros and cons of an edit button

My suggestion would be to allow editing until the thread is viewed by someone and if no one views it within 30minutes, then the message is locked in place and cannot be edited. If no one ever saw the change that was made then  I don't see the harm.

Especially when you get those nasty [/img] thingys after your ~klinky thingy
