Re: What's With the Shitty Attitude
Woah...looks like some *SRS* business is goin on here! Banning and the world wide waste go hand in hand though, you shouldn't be surprised, nor should you be surprised that banning is done for childish reasoning. The entire concept of banning was created specifically for tweenagers on the Internet, which is why on Usenet, where it's mostly all adults, there's simply no such thing as banning...at all. On Usenet people are expected to act like *ADULTS* and to censor *THEMSELVES* via the use of filters or blinders if there's content that they can't handle looking at.
But the world wide waste works a bit differently, because it's so infested with children, and children cannot be expected to censor themselves, they need a kind of "mommy moderator" to look after them, to "ban" all the big bad Interwebs monsters and hold their little hands and wipe their asses for them...well, at least that was the general idea. Problem is, in most cases, the "mommy moderator" usually turns out to be a tweenager themselves, and as such, well...hilarity ensues! ^__^
To put it simply, there is *NO* adult reason to ever ban someone, if you're banning anyone...you're doing it because you're a child and because you can't act like an adult. And using the excuse that someone else is acting childish as reasoning for you to act the same way...yeah...it kinda makes you look stupid...*REALLY* stupid.
The only plausible reasoning for a "ban" is in regards to spam...however even in that regard it's pretty much the poorest tool you could ever rely upon. Removing spam through the use of automated filters is the way to go. It's much more efficient and it doesn't require you to act like a child to try and solve a problem.
...just some food for thought. ^__^

Honestly, you sound like someone who's ban banned from a chatroom before and want to make excuses for it. The chatroom is supposed to be open to anyone who's interesting in amvs and we can't assume everyone knows how to use an IRC client and not all IRC clients have all these amazing features. We have rules that need to be followed and if you don't follow them, you get banned, just like any other community chatroom. If you're an adult, you follow the rules... if you don't follow the rules, you accept the consequences... Just like real life.Revenant Death wrote:blah blah

(again I'll give the advice to LURK MOAR)
You're getting the shitty attitude because you come in and expect us to entertain you 24/7. PAY ATTEEEENTION TO MEEEEEEE doesn't work. IRC is similar to a real conversation. You wouldn't just walk up to a bunch of strangers that were talking about something and go "hey guys, let me in here, I got some shit to tell you LISTEEENNNN." But then again, this is the internet so lololololol.

Hey look at that, post censoring! LOL Don't worry, I expect children to do that sort of thing. Children will often try and hide and cover up things that make them look foolish or things that might get them in trouble. Certainly an adult would *NEVER* resort to such infantile practices. Only a child would be so foolish as to make like Hitler and run around burning posts left and right. Unfortunately for you though, every post I ever make...anywhere...it's uh...it's archived! And uh...reposted...and not in very nice places at that. So if you'd really like to draw some incredibly negative attention to your lil community...well uh...just keep doin it! LOL

I've never seen so many textbook examples of so many logical fallacious and tropes from one person in one day, it truly is amazing.
