The thread probably shouldn't exist outside of the OT forum to be completely honest. It's off topic so should rightly be in the place where the other off topic discussions go. I don't understand what's so difficult to understand about that. It seems pretty straight forward to me.Arashinome wrote:Nobody is trying to change the sites main intention. This is simply an added bonus for people who choose other mediums than anime to make videos. It's a place to announce other videos that are self hosted. We have a thread for it, therefore it's obviously acceptable in the eyes of the admins/mods. So rather than have a thread that we have to search through PAGES and PAGES to find a video, why not have a fucking forum to announce these videos? There will be no hosting here, and I'm sure it would be heavily modded. I'm even willing to mod it myself.

Re: Live Action Videos [Hear me out please]
we have a whole section for music that doesn't relate at all to anime. I'd say the music section is more off-topic than a misc. videos section. i'm thinking we could just have the subforum in the "Video" section at the bottom. people would probably skim over it if they weren't looking for it, so in no way would it have the power to change the focus of the website, in fact it would make the site more focused on the editing aspect of videos, and i think this site is first and foremost an editing community rather than an anime lovers community.BasharOfTheAges wrote:The thread probably shouldn't exist outside of the OT forum to be completely honest. You need anime --> anime section
You need music --> music section
You need to bring them together --> video (tech) section
Now, what does live action have anything to do with these? kthxbai.

i'm just saying it wouldn't exactly be "off-topic". i don't think the music is off-topic either.
live action is typically in a video format, which you edit.
live action has to do with videos, it just doesn't have anything to do with anime.

Except the video section isn't intended as in "videos" in general, but as in video under a technological side of things. As in the editing seen under the light of bringing anime and music together. So yes, live action doesn't have anything to do with the video section.gotegenks wrote:i'm just saying it wouldn't exactly be "off-topic". i don't think the music is off-topic either.

Re: Live Action Videos [Hear me out please]
okay, maybe don't have it in the video section then.
and that's why it would be an addition, that's why it's a debate. It's not completely irrelevant to the site or the community as evidenced by the 30+ pages in the lamv thread though.
i think it'd give the site a little new fervor, but it probably wouldn't be THAT active anyway, unless it became wildly popular and absorbed the site and overthrew all the admins and declared itself LAMV.org but like joey said, close it if it looks like that might happen, and crisis averted!
or think of it as an off-topic section available to everybody, except change the title from "off-topic" to "misc. music videos" or whatever.

Jesus Christ Bashar you have such a one track mind. In this case, let's get rid of the avisynth forum. This is a-m-v.org not ENCODANFAG.ORG. Yeah, AviSynth has to do with video, but not amv's specifically. Just like other forms of video relate to editing and videos, but not anime in specific. Seriously, you take this shit way too literally.BasharOfTheAges wrote:The thread probably shouldn't exist outside of the OT forum to be completely honest. see mirko's response to the same exact shit gotegenks was spewing.Arashinome wrote:Jesus Christ Bashar you have such a one track mind. In this case, let's get rid of the avisynth forum. There's nothing wrong with it being off topic. We have a forum for that now (again). What's with all the anger towards OT?

Because not everybody is going to pay for OT, in fact, not even 10% of these people will.BasharOfTheAges wrote:see mirko's response to the same exact shit gotegenks was spewing.

Also, what I said wasn't even close to what gote said, so why don't you read that again correctly this time.

That's their problem. If they want to talk about off-topic things they can pay or go elsewhere.Arashinome wrote:Because not everybody is going to pay for OT, in fact, not even 10% of these people will.
You both has smartass remarks about how some specific forum or subforum wasn't strictly amv related in some false-dichotomy. You're both equally wrong for the same reasons mirko already gave.Arashinome wrote:Also, what I said wasn't even close to what gote said, so why don't you read that again correctly this time.
