You're kidding, right? The sheer amount of moderator-time that would go into that is mind-boggling.Cornwiggle wrote:Maybe we should have a scanner to check the posts before they're uploaded? With that problem I bet afterall people who stop using it as a chat room because it would awhile to process, thus ruining the time for a chat room convo. I think that's a good idea, no flames would get through either.

Yeah I know.... It sounds good, too bad it'll take too much man power though.Kalium wrote:You're kidding, right? On the other hand, the amount of chat entries entered would be greatly reduced if people knew that 'lol' could take a couple of weeks to become public.Kalium wrote:You're kidding, right? There's also the option of a word-count filter, but that could be gotten around by copy-and-paste. Any automated solution would be too much trouble for such a minor part of the site, I think.
What about flagging journal entries so that entries with different word counts appear in different colours? That way you'd have at least some indication before clicking whether you were about to read one side of a conversation.

I think we should seriously have a time-restraint on journals. Make it so they aren't posted for a day.
This will eliminate a lot of the "chatting" that goes on if it takes over a day to go through, I think that will be the best way to elimate all the "chatting" that has to take place. Some people use it like a chat room, when they have PMs or AIM or another instant messages. I think this will be for the best, because if people just post progress a day or so won't be that bad for time, but if the convos don't go through, people will stop trying to chat.

have a mininum/maximum character limit? have a journal entry limit like (insert number) per (insert time restraint)? have it where unlimited journal entries are only for donators? add a pm system on the main member page? somehow make the journal buddy system where ya can only address certain entries to certain buddies? have a disregard list where you avoid seeing certain members names in the new journal entry list? somethin like that?

I was thinking just make it so it takes at least an hour or so to appear after it was submitted. That will elimate the chatting.8bit_samurai wrote:have a mininum/maximum character limit? have a journal entry limit like (insert number) per (insert time restraint)? have it where unlimited journal entries are only for donators? add a pm system on the main member page? somehow make the journal buddy system where ya can only address certain entries to certain buddies? have a disregard list where you avoid seeing certain members names in the new journal entry list? somethin like that?

This is one person who really abuses the journals, she treats it like a chat room, even though all her buddies are all on her buddy lists, but she feels the need to chat everywhere.
The journals should not be used as chat rooms.

Any reason why you're singling her out of everyone else who does the same thing. . .if not worse? (Yes, I'm guilty of it too.) Do you have something against her personally? Or are you just to lazy to point everyone else out too, including those that are worse than her.Cornwiggle wrote:http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... mid=452927

Well, hmmm, if you want to split hairs, there's also the katie/jubjub/ayanefan/rina group. The Froilan/Mxfire/Quince/Godstriker group. Then Eva-fan, Ben, Josh and I are usually in that mix somewhere too. As are you and Bebop on occassion. And originally, you only pointed out Kikai. Not Yeiweh or anyone else. I was just wondering why you only pointed her out.Cornwiggle wrote:She and Yeiweh are doing it right now...of course they do it....24/7wurpess wrote:Any reason why you're singling her out of everyone else who does the same thing. . .if not worse?
