deleting pervious versions of video info (comment history)?
Hi there, well I put a very long description for my latest video and got confused with the html tag (used [] instead of <>) and it took me a couple of tries to get it right. I also caught some spelling mistakes too. Well, now I have an (almost) perfect description when I noticed that at the bottom of my video info a bunch of 'comment history' links to my previously, mistake-filled entries. To see it, just hit my sig link to see the oodles of mistakes!
Is there any way that I can delete them on my own or is this something that only a mod can do?
thanks in advance!

See, this is why there is a "preview" button on the edit video description page.
Phade.
I tried using the preview button, but it would always error out on me so I never knew I had all those mistakes in it.. So there!
hehehe
oh, and thanks (if that was you who took all those previous eds!).

I'd just like to point out that I have the same problem. I'd like to make an edit to my video profile, but whenever I do, the edits I make do not save, and instead, a "comment history" tag appears at the bottom.

How does one successfully edit an existing video profile without having the "comment history" things popping up at the bottom? I've tried clicking the "preview" button, but that doesn't seem to work either (In both Opera 8 and IE and I get an error).
Thanks for your time.

I used to have this problem until I realized I was using the "<" character and the parser thought the entire rest of my entry was one giant HTML tag, so it didn't show up. Could that be it?Athelstone wrote:I'd just like to point out that I have the same problem. I'd like to make an edit to my video profile, but whenever I do, the edits I make do not save...
I think the whole point of the commenty history is TO pop up any time you make an edit so that the old versions aren't lost. So if it's been implemented right, there shouldn't be a way to get rid of it.Athelstone wrote:and instead, a "comment history" tag appears at the bottom. I just a had a strange problem occur. I tried to update one of my AMV descriptions and I even used the preview function to see if it looked right, and it was. But when I actually hit continue and saved it all, the text I added didn't show up. And on the bottom in the comment history there appeared a change log added on 9-25-05, even though today is 10-02-05. :S
I'm a little confused because I've never had trouble updating my descriptions and since I tried it multiple times there's a few comment changes at the bottom showing the wrong date with none of the changes I made whatsoever...and I still haven't been able to get any of the changes to show up even though they're there when I check the preview window. Just thought it was a little strange...any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I'm afraid not, no. But thank you for trying to help.I used to have this problem until I realized I was using the "<" character and the parser thought the entire rest of my entry was one giant HTML tag, so it didn't show up. Could that be it?
If an official admin of a-m-v.org could look into this, I and others having this problem would be deeply appreciative.
Thank you.
