Quick Comments
I think you should have the choice as to whether or not your quick comments are anon.
I also think that there should be a link that allows you to look at your AMVs quick comments. Like you can with opinions and the "My opinions recvd " link.
And maybe the option to make quick comments public on your video profile? Kinda like how you can choose two ops to make public.
Just kinda throwing these out there...
Okay, I'm done. Feel free to start bashing my ideas ^_^

"<insert> - <insert>". Yes I realise that can be abused.Radical_Yue wrote:I think you should have the choice as to whether or not your quick comments are anon.

you do. write your handle at the end of your quick comment and it's no longer anonymous.Radical_Yue wrote:I think you should have the choice as to whether or not your quick comments are anon.

Exactly what I was thinking. Yes you can sign your name. But what if I went to all of Sailor Earth's AMVs leaving quick comments saying they were the most awesome sauce AMVs of all time....but I signed YOUR NAME!!! dun dun dun!!! Or how about Phade? Or maybe Koop?
I know this wouldn't completely eliminate the problem, but if you got an anon quick comment from "Koop" it'll be pretty easy to tell that it 99.9% wasn't Koop.
Sorry, I made this post when I was tired...and I was lacking caffine....and sandwhiches...

you're requesting an option to indicate who you are in you're quick comments. you have the option to write in your own name, write in someone else's name, or leave no name. if you want to write someone else's name, that's your decision, but the failure to indicate who you are isn't the fault of the current qc system but that of your own decision.

Look at it as a request to have an option where you can prove you are who you say you are when you leave the QC. If there were such an option, those who choose to sign their QCs would use the option. Those who write in a name are probably lying (since they could just use the option if they were who they claim to be). And those who like to sign their friends' qcs and stay annonymous for everyone else can use the option when they want to and hide the rest of the time.
The only people the option would bother are those who like to sign other people's names to their QCs. Poor liars.
.
That said, I think it would take way too much time and effort to write an option like that in to the current QC setup. I'd rather leave the code guys alone and hope for a karma system or one of the other really old things on the site's 'to do' list. Signed QCs would be nice in theory - no drawbacks unless you're a liar who likes to forge other people's names. But it's probably too much trouble to do, and not as high on my list of wanted updates as some of the things we've been waiting for 3+ years to get. ^_^;
