Avatar, How do I apply one to my posts?

Simple question, as I see everyone here has an Avatar, you must be able to answer how can I apply an Avatar to my posts?

I went to my profile, and I can only apply a signature from there. Do I have to post a certain amount of times, or be registered for a while before I can unlock the feature to have an Avatar?

Also can I center my posts somehow? I'm used to using [div align=center][/div]
I'm guessing this doesn't work here..

There is no centering posts. And as for avatar, its at the very bottom of your profile. Maximum is 100x100, I think 6kb if uploading directly and 45kb if its a link from offsite. Someone correct me with exacts.

Why can I not edit my own posts, if it's my own thread?

Yeah, I go and post a nice detailed post in the other one, then notice this one. . and that everyone posted here.

And there are certain forums where you can edit posts (AMV Announcements, MEPS, and Contests, I believe, as well as the Donator's Forum), but most of them, no you can't edit.

On some topics you can, others you can't. For example, on the AMV Announcements forum you can, on this forum, the Site Help forum you can't.

There must be reason for this right?
It causes some frustration, you should definately be aloud to edit posts in the Site Help forum because many Newbies like me could have a new question pop up into their heads. Which happend as you can see.

Or am I aloud to double post in places where I can't edit my original post?
Either way it seems like a hassle and I can't understand as to why they'd want to remove it.

Thats just the way its always been. I dunno why. Just make sure to preview your post before you submit it.

Do I enter the URL I did to post it onto this thread, or do I obtain the URL from elsewhere. I've uploaded it to my Photobucket. I can't directly upload from my computer as it exceeds 16KB.
