Well, re-installation... complete! Progress... No where! You know, I really don't mind wasting my time working on a problem, even when I don't solve it. It's when I do this, and screw myself for everything else I'm doing. I've now gone 2 days without working out, I haven't finished the book of which I have a quiz on tomorrow, I was supposed to try and figure out the math we've been doing, and I still have more miscallaneous homework. It would have been worth the sacrifice if it worked, but it didn't...

Oh ya, I could probably get most of these things done tonight, but I have hockey in an hour.Anime Jedi wrote:Well, re-installation... complete! Progress... No where! Ok, so you're sure the drive is installed correctly, and can read even normal CD's? (stick a music CD or something you know is good in it, and ope up the disc in explorer, just to make sure the drive is working.)
You shouldn't need any special drivers to make the drive itself work like a plain old CD-ROM, just burning software to write discs with it.
Try downloading a free trial version of Nero Burning Rom 5.5.
If you can burn a disc with that, then you can just blame EZ Coaster Creator, which is known to suck.
Make sure you aren't trying to burn faster than the rated speed of your blank CD's
Maybe try a different blank, or even a different brand, if you have a few lying around.
That's about all I can think of right off.

Good ideas.
It does play regular Cds. I was using it before I started burning already.
I've got the burning software.
I guess I can try another software, but it's not like this one hasn't worked before. It use to work great. That's why I'm having trouble believing it's the software's fault.
Unfortunetely I'm using recordable CDs to test, so I've already wasted 3. I guess I can also change company, but this is the same package I used to use, and the others were fine.
