The painting beautiful because of its lighting and balance, but one day someone thinks that the vase is vulgar somehow, next thing you know there is a giant black box where the vase once was. Where it is true that the painting is still there, its beauty is know been changed because of black box.

using this logic, can you safely assume that you know what true beauty is? someone might feel that the black box is beautiful in it's own right, and a new piece of art has been created from a different one.. but that topic is beside the point.

assume we have a picture of goats. would you put the same black box on him the same way you did for the vase?

This topic seems to be taken the wrong way.
First off, I read EVERYTHING that EVERYONE submitted to this topic and I know where you are coming from. I guess I merely meant to point out that, true, there are SOME animes that have been butchered by editing, but in all most are still the same anime that you liked, minus a fiew irrelevant peices. Trimming the fat.
Wykith, I am NOT defending censorship. Actually, I have been in trouble many times for fighting it. I don't sit there and complain though. I take action. I am just saying that a majority of the people I have met don't. They sit and complain and do nothing. Also, I would appreciate it if you all held in your insensitive remarks and flames towards myself and my intelligence (which you all seem to think you are gurus of) and make intelligable responses to the topic.
I should probably tell you why I made this. There is a whole topic in General Anime that sits there complaining about Cartoon Network and their use of Kenshin and Evangelion. I AM defending those networks that are even brave enough to play such animes, as they are in their own right contraversial and outspoken in their origins; but for you all to sit their and flame them is not appropriate. They are working with what they can to get out the best anime they can with what resources they have. They don't sit there and say "Lets get THIS shitty edited anime and edit the FUCK out of THIS great one!". They are just like you all and loathe the fact they they are forced to hide all of the story from their viewers. Yet at the same time, they'd be damned if they didn't show anything at all.
I am going to stop here. I will conserve the rest of my thoughts for later, if they are needed. I imagine that I am going to be flamed and ridiculed like none other for this post, but I hope you all see what I am talking about.
Anyone here ever watch Saturday Anime on scifi when they had it?

Amen to that. I hate the censorship too, but I also know it's not all the network's fault so while I may say: "Oh, THAT was a cheap way to edit the scene!", I don't actually complain that it's been edited. Let's face it: As long as there are parents and/or religion in the world, there will be censorship. Not to diss religion, but it HAS been one of the main driving forces behind censorship and to deny it would simply be denial. I can't really do much about it so you won't see me bashing a network for censorship. I just poke fun at how the censoring is carried out.

Since I am the twin of MegaMouth, I also saw Saturday Anime on SciFi channel and I've even heard rumors of them bringing it back. Either that or they might start up their SciFi channel annual Anime Festivals, where they play a bunch of new and classic anime movies. (Such as Akira, Robot Carnival, and Tekken.) This, however, doesn't mean all the animes will be good. (Example being Tekken.) It would be censored but not that badly. (Nudity, extreme gore and some language)
