The real enemy is France I hope bush realises this soon.
And after we take him out we oughta go after those french bastards just cause they are so damn stupid and stuck up.
Some of you are frightening......
So yes, we are going to be the cops of the world. But considering Japan dismantled it's army after WWII due to UN regulations and a similar agreement, does Iraq not have to follow rules? Allowing Sadam to get away with this sets a bad example - we would basically be telling him he can do whatever we want, INCLUDING slaughter an entire religion he doesn't agree with.
May I ask you a question: what do you think about the fact that Bush is going to start a war without the approval of the UN? Isn't he breaking the rules?

I agree with WilLoW (of course I'm french you could say) but from outside, Bush seems really mad: a boy playing with his toy: the army.

After Iraq, which country will Bush attack? and for what kind of reasons this time?

I'm really frightned by what is going to happen since everybody can do what it wants. What will happen to the UN?

well, I'm disappointed...................................

Well, that's just dandy. So extermination is the solution? Something like that (assuming you are speaking U.S vs Iraq) would oly create sympathizers for Iraq. The harder you strike, the more rebellion and hare against you, which in turn creates violence against you...

And, in the children's case, you strike hard enough and kill, you'd get your ass hauled to jail pretty quickly, or just get mobbed by relatives of your victim, and get beat up.
I like bugging people. Deal with it.

In the time the UN has been around, something like three wars have actually been sanctioned. There have been a lot of wars in the world, Americans aren't the only ones who start them... in fact, we aren't even close.

Besides, if you read over my post again, you'll see I was stating the reasons I believe we're going to war, what I've heard on CNN and the like - but I am still an isolationist and would never wish for a war. I was simply stating the facts.

There's another thing that leads to most of the conflict in this world - miscommunication.

[quote="WilLoW :--)"]I still don't understand why he's America's president.[quote]

"In what appears to be a mass fraud committed by the state of Florida, Bush, Harris and company not only removed thousands of black felons from rolls, they also removed thousands of black citizens who had never committed a crime in their lives - along with thousands of eliginle voters who had comitted only misdemeanors.

How did this happen? Harris told Database - a firm with strong Republican ties - to cast as wide a net as possible to get rid of these voters. Her minions instructed the company to include even people with "similar" names to those of the actual felons. They insisted that Database check people with the same birth dates as known felons, or similar Social Security numbers; an 80 percent match of relevent information, the election office instructed, was sufficient for Database to add a voter to the ineligible list.

These orders were shocking, even to Bush-friendly Database. That would mean thousands of legitimate voters might be barred from voting on Election Day just because they had a name that sounded like someone else's, or shared a birthday with some unknown bank robber."

-Quote taken from the book "Stupid White Men"

The result was that 173,000 registered voters were wiped off the voter rolls. The BBC paid more attention to this obscene situation then the American media ever did.

Not that anyone cares anymore, but there was so much double dealing and underhanded actions carried out so that Bush could steal the election that I continue to refuse to call him "President". He's not much better than any of the other ballot-manipulating tyrants in third-world countries.

The chapter which I quoted goes on and on about all the manipulations that happened in Florida (and I just didn't feel like typing in the whole chapter). This certainly isn't the only factor that resulted in this moron attaining a post he certainly doesn't deserve and is dangerously incapable of holding.

Some other thoughts on the war.

1) The UN's job is to help try to keep things stable. It is their duty to try to prevent a war from starting. People shouldn't get so pissed at the UN for trying to do all they can to stop a war.

2) We can get around the UN if we really want to fight someone. After all... in Viet Nam, we were never at "war". It was a "Police Action"... pretty clever, huh?

The real problem here is the court of world opinion. We can certainly go to war without the UNs approval, but that will really make us look bad. We are really looking bad right now.

3) I am very tired of people who claim that we are attacking Saddam because he supported the Taliban. American put Saddam in power in Iraq and gave him money and equipment and training. We also helped give the Taliban financial support and equipment and training. Therefore, it smacks of hypocracy to say how Saddam is helping bring terror to the world, because we sure helped make it happen as well.

4) Pretend you're just a citizen of Iraq. I mean it. Pretend you are just a normal person in Iraq. A chunk of your country is suddenly cut off and suddenly it's another country and you have no say. (It is my understanding... and I may be wrong... that Kuwait was broken off Iraq shortly after WWII). Then America comes along in the 80s and puts Saddam in power and while Saddam is playing the role of America's puppet and fighting Iran, he is doing horrible things to the people... perhaps people you know... and then when Saddam attacks Kuwait, America urges the Iraqi people to overthrow Saddam, but won't provide them with any support... and many more people are killed... and then America declares war on Iraq.... and probably many of your friends and family could be killed by Saddam or American bombing runs... or who knows what...

If you were just a citizen of Iraq... who would seem the biggest source of terror to you?

5) America should have done better in Afghanistan. Even if we never found Osama... we (US and UN) should have done a lot more to help restore Afghanistan and helped much more to set up a unified government and done much more to help the people of this war-torn nation who have known nothing but misery and pain. Instead, we have done little and from what I have heard in the news, Afghanistan is falling back into the regime of battling warlords. Imagine how much stronger are case would be for fighting Iraq if we showed how we REALLY did care about the people. As it stands, any talk Bush makes on wanting to help the "people of Iraq" seems empty and shallow.

America has set up a number of "friendly dictators" which resulted in the deaths of anywhere from 5,000 to 20,000 people (depending on the country). In the past 40 years we have brought a lot of misery to a lot of countries, mostly because of our own arrogance and often our own ignorance.

Saddam is a horrible man and should be removed from power in Iraq.
Osama bin Laden is a maniac and he and his followers should be taken out

but America is taking the wrong path to do it and the current administration is just tarnishing America's image.

The only people who will benefit from war are the people in the military-industrial complex who are going to get billions of taxpayer dollars and they will be able to buy bigger and better homes for themselves while young American soldiers are killed in a meaningless war.

you just have to deal with the consequences, but once something is done, it can't be reversed.

a lot of people are worrying over repercussions from terrorism, and that's one reason why they don't want a war, but terrorist will still strike at the untied states no matter what.
