I want my computer to play an avi after it starts then freeze on the last frame as that will be my background.
for example
I am going to rip a kurouni kenshin dvd episode 6. then extract the audio with besweet load them into premire and save as avi. the part of episode 6 is when gena hourdo grabs kenshins girl and floats off saying hate me bla blah blah then it switches to kenshin yelling genaaaaaaaa !!!!!! as he is yelling they show him turning into the betousi with yellow eyes.
Right there is where i want ot freeze it and set that as my background. then all my icons pop up.
If this is possible I have like 4 or 5 dfferent others i want. I want the computer to randomly pick one or go through a preset order.

The main problem with this is that if you put something in your startup. It would load AFTER your wallpaper has loaded.
The best thing I can think of would be to enable Active Desktop, with your Desktop Setup as a web page.
Then you can embed a video file into that webpage, how to do that, I am not sure. I am not a HTML guru. The webpage could probably be stored on your computer.
You could do that and have it stop on the last frame. Or maybe have the page, change to another page that just has the image. 'Cuz having media player open all the time, maybe mess up other apps that use the overlay.
You could probably set something up in javascript. That would use a random number to select a file on your computer and then load the video.
Again, I don't know how to do it, but it's a idea.
In all, I don't think it's a good idea. Since all it will do is make your computer slow.
heh, I don't even have wallpaper on my computer. I don't even look at the desktop most of the time. =\
