Chrono time-travels and saves the world.

Mario plays tennis and golf, races people, gets lost and has his brother bail him out (twice), saves a princess at every oppurtunity, and beats up his fellow Nintendo amigos.

It's about the quality, not the quantity. Chrono > Mario

I voted Mario because games Mario has been in: MORE THAN TEN.

Games Crono has been in ONE. (Two if you count that small "cameo" in Crono Cross as that little ghost-like kid at the end.)
