Doh, I completly forgot about Breath of Fire, IMO best series Capcom ever made.

interestingly enough, my favorite one was FFX. Why? Because I liked the characters more in that one. Though Cloud and Squall still kick ass. Also some lillte things like recognizable character models and voice actors put it up a bit. But even witout those things Id still love it. :D
Where is Nataku? anyway, uhh, yeah.
Favorite anime? well I enjoy, TRIGUN, Escaflowne, Inuyasha, Cowboy Bebop, Rurouni Kenshin, Gundam Wing, and FLCL.

now u tell me.

None of today's characters compare to the character from VI

except maybe Sepheroth (sp?)

Agreed on all but Mog. I mean he's cool, but not really a great character in development. Just sorta cute.

Actually almost everyone in VI had a decent amount of development other than Mog, Gogo and Umaro.

I'm forgeting his name, but the wild kid was pretty cool.

And Mog is fucking hilarious. Who cares about development, he made the game great. you'd be all serious and in the moment, and then all of a sudden Mog walks across the screen with his moogle music. CLASSIC.

Hehe, you've obviously never played DBZ: Legend of the Super Saiyan for the snes.
I still have fits of depression when I think of the hours of my life I lost on that game, and that was about 5 years ago.

Just in case anyone got the wrong impression, I'm not one of those FF fanboys that dwchang mentioned, I just like the games I've played... except for FFMQ, which I never got around to finishing.

I've noticed this to, not just in FF games though.

One thing that really made alot of those characters great was that you could really identify with atleast one of them.

Alex for instance from LSSS, if you get down to it, at the beginning hes just an average guy, just some guy living in some town with some girl he likes, (although he does have a strange flying cat  )
and all he really wants to do is get out and see the world.

Though along the way, you see hes not just some guy, hes someone special who can attain his dreams by persaverance (and of course we see Nall isn't just some cat  ).

Now take that, and compare it to say.....Irving, hes some womanizer in a cowboy hat with a gun...thats really all you see and feel about. All in all this really detracts from playability because the game and characters just lose that special drawing force that just makes you care.
