IMO, Frank Miller's two Batman books (OK, mainly just the first one) are the greatest comic books ever created.
I also like Venom and Carnage. Mainly Carnage; he's just so entertaining to read ^_^

To elaborate, Carnage is another symbiote organism that bred from Venom's (they reproduce asexually) and was left at the cell that Brock (Venom's human half) once occupied before his symbiote freed him. it merged with Brock's cellmate, the anarchical serial killer Cletus Kassidy, who went on an indiscriminate killing spree to spread his idea of chaos as the ultimate freedom (killing people because of finding their name in a phone book and thinking it sounded silly, etc). Spiderman was forced to contact Venom (who he had earlier tricked into thinking that he had killed Spiderman in order to satiate the ultimately moral Brock) to stop him. More in Carnage Unleashed.
His powers include strength higher than that of Venom and Spiderman put together, speed, and the ability to form his 'costume' into pretty much any shape he requires- even to fire bits of it as projectiles. Like his 'dad', Venom, he is susceptible to ultrasonic sound.
Later in his 'career', the Carnage symbiote becomes housed within Cetus' blood. Only when he is injured does it come forth.
