I wish I didn't have to move so much. At college is were I took more of the variety of styles, all for free. Now back home in MD, I paying out the ass. 120 for a damn uniform.(rip off) I'm only doing it for another month or two and then I'm moving.

I like the people at my school though, they are friendly and nice people. I do alot more assisting then I do actually learning myself. They wanted me to start offically assisting so I could then teach.

I wish I could do one of those 3 month programs at a shaolin temple in china, that'd be cool.

and as it goes for practical fighting, I've learned how to disarm: gun and knife. some of it coming from krav maga. And if I was in a real fight, I wouldn't use any really fancy foot work, I'd just grab and break. Or momentum throws.

Psh =\
The only way you disarm a gun is by your voice.. Or running for your life.
9 times out of ten they don't even WANT to shoot you, and if they do, they usually do it before you can do anything in return.

Not to mention you have to be in their "circle" before you can disarm the gun.. And REALLY, Who's going to shoot you within a foot of where you are?

Someone who WANTS you to stop them.

Then that person lacks the will to fire, and is a moron who deserves to be disarmed.

First rule of firearms: Never point a gun at anything you don't intend to shoot.

This doesn't mean you can't use a gun as a deterrent, without firing it - it means, however, that one shouldn't show or wave a gun (or any weapon) around casually, without the will to follow through on the implied threat.
I'm out...

Indeed. My opinions exactly.

The only mathematically feasible way to disarm someone with a gun is if you are in their range, approximately 1.5m to 2m. According to police and military tactical flowcharts, a recommended distance is 12ft, or 3m. If you can (or they) walk up into your face, then we've figured at least one thing out: they've been watching too many "tough-guy" films.

Kthulhu:
There is one exception: in the motion pictures!

easy to disarm a gun, just not a person with one.

LOL!

Unless it's that new paintball marker I proposed last week. The one with the infrared range sensor and MV algorithms... or oops.
