Yeah I noticed they were using a variation of the Summer Overture in the LotR.

Hmm....well I'd have to say song wise: Pulp Fiction, Anime: Slayers the motion picture, and for Instruments sake: Gladiator.

OMG i thought I dispelled this issue.

Okay, this guy...called Tim Aste...did a 6 1/2 minute remix of Lux Aeterna (sp?). One of the advertising goons...heard it...and asked Tim if they could use it for the LotR: TTT promo's, he said yes. No one stole the music, Tim simply 'improved' IMO upon it greatly.

Clint's currently working out the terms of distrobution of the remix last I heard. Yes, Clint Mansel has shared rights with the remix...so nothing and noone is getting ripped off. The song used to be up on Tim's site, which is having an overhawl at the moment, but the track consumed his bandwidth since so many people were d/ling it like mad and found someone else to host it for a short while until Mansel's people claimed rights to it, and thus it was taken down.

Anywho, it's a shame with it's popularity that noone hardly knows who actually did it.

Didn't literally mean stole, I just mean that I liked the requiem music better and I hate hearing all the mainstream wannabe film people telling me that I'm listening to LOTR TT, so no offense to anyone involved, just me being angered, just like any time a bunch of people only hear any remix and think its the original: Smooth Criminal, Boys of Summer, etc.

Indeed, I feel your pain. I liked the remix so much though, and it annoyed me when people were like "OMG it was in the trailer and not the movie, WTF, Mansel must of SUED them! Requiem for a Dream FOREVER!!" ...no offense to fans of the RfaD ost, I liked it too, I'm just annoyed with the ignorance over the remix and it was better than most of the tracks from the Requiem for a Dream Remix cd release several months ago, involving artists like Paul Oakenfold and others, I was kinda dissappointed.

Once Upon a Time in Mexico has an awesome soundtrack, if you're not allergic to that type of music.
I like bugging people. Deal with it.
