I think this has already been said but... a lot of it depends on trust. Trust of yourself and of the person at the other end. You must trust yourself enough to be able to trust the person on the other end. But you don't know if you can trust yourself unless you can trust the other person. It's sort of circular, but it's part of an internet relationship.
