Ahh the draft. Nothing like forcing a person to go and die for something they might not necisarily believe in. Forcing a group of people to do what you tell them to becuase you feel it's in the "best interests" of their commonwealth. Bullshit.

That's funny, I thought "by Bush and Ashcroft" would have been the more expected remark.
Bush isn't the one killing our soldiers. It's those damn Saddam loyalists, and the Iraqi teenagers who just want a quick buck. There is no way to win a guerrilla war, and still be popular afterwards. The only way to kill the guerrillas, is to play dirty, and kill anything that walks on two legs in the guerrilla's territory. This is why we couldn't win in Vietnam: we weren't willing to commit genocide for a crappy chunk of swampland, which we'd give up to a bunch of thugs and cutthroats just as bad as the VC.

You want to stop the unnecessary loss of human life over there? There's only one way to do it: pick up a rifle, and drop as many Ba'athist sons of bitches as possible. Screw the Geneva Convention, and all this pc bullshit. If the Iraqis can torture POWs and not have the UN bat an eye, why can't we? You blow the testicles off a Republican Guard soldier with a Ma Deuce, he'll more than open up to some polite conversation.

Toecutters train of thought:

US soldiers = Unnecessary and tragic loss of life

Iraqis, civilians and otherwise = Friggin target practice! Pass the ammo!

Aawww....aren't we disappointed. How those nasty nasty Iraqis dare to raise their hands against the Ah-So-Ever-Glorious-US-Of-A-And-Our-Even-More-Glorious-Army.

And if you would remove the blindfold from your eyes, you would realise that only a small minority of Guerillas are Baathist.

I fear your remarks will fall on deaf ears.
I like bugging people. Deal with it.

I didn't even think otherwise :)

Seriously. Toecutter is immensely funny individual, who hates 'ragheads', who shoot americans (who invaded their country), enjoys the thought of killing people and return of draft (not that he would sign up voluntarily) cause some stupid liberals (everyone who disagrees with him) will be hauled away to die. Not to mention his posts indicate that as a (untrained) soldier he considers himself to be nothing short of John Rambo's second coming*.

Yes, these boards would definetly be boring without him.

Please don't go TC! We all love you, really!

*Or should that be fourth?

I don't consider myself the second or even fourth coming of Rambo. Remember, Rambo III was nothing but a tribute to the "heroic people of Afghanistan".

You're still ignoring the fact that you're a facist stuffed monkey who thinks he can handle himself under the stress of combat. One would conclude the highest level of "training" you've had would include paintball guns, and a flag, and possibly some trees.

Hey, if I get drafted, the military will teach me everything I need to know. The rest is just having the guts or complete disregard for self-preservation (I have the latter) to do what needs to be done, regardless of the cost. I don't claim to have any superior skills, but I do know I have the genetic potential, given the appropriate training, to definately put quite a few of my peers to shame.

So why do I refuse to volunteer, but more than welcome the draft? I have my own idea of what I want to do with my life, and it sure as hell doesn't involve being a puppet for the next liberal jackass who screws his interns and sells our military secrets to the highest bidder. I could do far better things with my life if I work in the private sector, than deal with all the politically-correct bullshit in a government job.

However, if my nation needs me, I will be more than happy to become expendible to ensure the survival of western civilization. As long as I'm shipped off to somewhere relatively warm, I'd probably enjoy it. Yes, I am mainly looking forward to the draft to see all those whiny pussies who gave me such shit put in their place. I don't hold anything against them for their differing political opinions, but rather the way they expressed them. These people used the same tactics that made the Hitler Youth and Red Guard Army so popular with the masses. There's nothing more disgusting to me than using Zero Tolerance and head games to shut up anyone with a differing opinion. If I have something against you, I'll say it straight out, and I expect everyone else to follow suit.

As for the stress of combat, I'd do rather well. I work best when I'm stressed out. It gives me an edge, and all that adrenaline helps to block out unnecessary or discomforting sensory inputs.

If I were in combat, I'd be like "oh shit oh shit oh shit", and then quickly "motherfuckers die, eat shit and die motherfuckers!" while blasting 5.56mm round after 5.56mm round out.

Then I'd probably be dead. Sound grim? It's better to be a pessimistic realist than an optimistic delusional, is it not?

A man after my own heart Cutter. I agree with ya 100 percent. And i have to say our soldiers should shoot anyone who approaches them to keep them safe. Put up a curfew and anyone breaking it kill outright. And let the UN go to Fucking hell. Since all they willdo is express dissapointment as always.
