Um...MinnieMoose? Why would you expect a civilian to have combat training? I mean, isn't that kind of a bad thing? Sorta? Leading to, say, commando-types shooting people because they have nothing else to do?

Not that I'm saying that everybody that has military training, but if there's no reason for someone to have it, why should they? It helps, yes, but it changes nothing in regards to somebody's opinion.\

And if I was in combat I'd die in like *dies*.

Then I'd probably be dead. Sound grim? It's better to be a pessimistic realist than an optimistic delusional, is it not?
Ever see Privat Ryan? Y'know, the guy that got the headshot as soon as the vehicle doors opened?
Yeah, that'd be me.

I'd be the guy in the beginning of "Glory" who gets decapitated by a cannonball and has all his blood splatter everywhere.

Well, his modern version, anyways.

OH! of COURSE! Becuase EVERYONE knows how they'd react under combat stress becuase that's EXACTLY the same has having a school report due ine one day that you've done no research on. Becuase sudden stress is stress right? And you wouldn't get sick, or possibly wet yourself when the shooting starts? You go sign up, go over to iraq where soliders are getting killed by guirilla warfare. Then you can brag about how you'd react.

Well, you can't say I have no combat training. Rather than wasting my time in a politically-correct jarhead world, I've been teaching myself Krav Maga, bayonet-fighting, knife-fighting, range estimation using my riflescope (as the Marine Corps snipers learn with far more expensive mil-dot reticle scopes), and basic CQB tactics. I've even read Mao Tsetung's Art of War, and a biography on Rommel, in order to learn from some of the best mobile warfare strategists. Maybe later, I'll catch up on a biography or two of Alexander the Great (his military campaigns are still studied today by officers at West Point, as the basis of all modern military strategy).

All the stuff the military teaches to the infantry is dumbed-down tactics and combat training for specific situations (typical of the government: make things more complicated and useless than they have to be). It isn't until you get into the Rangers, SEALS, etc., that soldiers are taught the wide range of theories and techniques, and the tactics to adapt what they've learned to a variety of scenarios. This is what I'm doing with my spare time: learning to adapt what I already know to a wide range of situations and threat levels. On the plus side, as a civilian, I have the priviledge to use JHP and personnel armor-piercing ammo (since I am not part of a sovereign nation's military, which has to follow the Geneva Convention).

Hrm.. this is why I don't like Americans..

Hey, why bother landing there? Why not just Nuke the whole country and then go over their and Rape their dead corpes because Bush said they had weapons of mass destruction.

*points at China* quick, they have weapons too.. we need to kill every man women and child because they are different from us too!!
Oooooh, and they have slanted eyes. quick, kill them before your precouis american gun-hoe redneck way of life in in jeapody because there is someone in the world with a different view on things!

Personally, I think good on them for shooting back. They are defending their fucken country. Their not terrorists.

What is it with Americans and those Salem witch trials.
First it was witches, then Communists. ANd now its Terrorists..
ooh, ooh, he has a nostrial hair, he's a terrorist kill him and his entire family!

Bush is nothing more than a yokal on a power trip. ppl like Toecutter have no idea just how similair they are to the enemy they hate so much. Extremists born on a different side of the mirror sáll.

and thats my 5 cents (Australian currency doesnt have 2cent coins anymore)

for an extra 5 cents
She's a Media Hero..
Media make anyone a hero because people like hero's.
And, she aint 'that' bad looking.

A dude hits a ball into a hole. He's a Hero.
A girl runs fast, she's a hero.

the 'real' hero's you mention just arent on the News. To the people that count, (the ones that appreciate them) they are Hero's.

The word Hero sells their papers. If they said, "Girl got taken, now set free' who would buy the paper?

As for a Purple Heart... I don't think i'd want a medal for murdering people. Even if I killed people who are trying to invade my home, i'd still be taking other peoples lives.

The only rewards I'd care about is the smile's of those I've saved.
